FootballPremier League Roy Keane shuts down Ian Wright prediction for Manchester City vs Arsenal and agrees to…

Roy Keane shut down Ian Wright’s prediction for Arsenal’s game against Manchester City but agreed to a forfeit if he’s wrong.

The Manchester United legend was adamant that the Gunners stood no chance of beating the Premier League champions this weekend at the Etihad

But Wright, a former Arsenal player, was insistent that his old club had to win the game, so they would.

In the end, Keane was allowed to put his prediction of 2-1 to Man City down on the condition he bought Wright anything the pundit wanted should the Gunners win at the Etihad.

Speaking on the latest edition of The Overlap Super Six predictions podcast, Wright was asked for his prediction of this huge title clash and said: “We’re beating them.

“We have to beat them. I am not saying we aren’t going to win.

He said: “Well, I need something. If Arsenal win, you’ve got to buy me something.”

Keane responded and said: “A watch?”

To which Wright refused: “I don’t want a watch.

“You go 2-1 City, but if they lose, whatever I want, you’ve got to buy it for me because I think Arsenal are going to win.”

The Sky Sports pundit replied and agreed: “This is a great game this.

“If I get it wrong [I’ll buy you something].”

Wright finished off by saying: “Yeah because you are totally negating Arsenal’s form at the moment.”

It will be interesting to see what happens on the next episode of The Overlap if Arsenal do win at the Etihad and if Keane follows through with Wright’s demand.

However, looking at Arsenal’s most recent trips to Man City, you can see why the Man United icon is so adamant that the Gunners stand no chance.

Last season, they were trounced 4-1 by City in a crucial title match, while Mikel Arteta has yet to beat Pep Guardiola in five games at the Etihad, losing every encounter.

In this time, Arsenal have only scored one solitary goal, so it’s not exactly a place where they thrive.

And for Keane’s sake, he will hope the Gunners’ dreadful run in the blue half of Manchester continues.
