A pair of Alabama freshmen, wide receiver Ryan Williams and cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, started a brand new podcast last week titled, ‘The New Wave,’ with their YouTube channel already garnering over 7,100 subscribers. In the duo’s second episode, they welcomed Alabama general manager Courtney Morgan to the show, who wasted no time listing his top-five players of all time from Alabama.
“I’m going to show my age with this. Cause of a lot of the top five, people are going to pull from the (Nick) Saban era, so I’m going to show my age with this,” Morgan said. “I’m going to start off with ‘Broadway Joe’ Joe Namath (at No.5). Joe Namath was a baller, Joe Namath off the field was ahead of his time. He was a brand before it was called a brand. “My favorite, Derrick Thomas (at No. 4). I got his picture in my office,” Morgan said. “Not only one of my favorite Alabama players but one of my favorite NFL players. I wore his number in high school.” Moving into Morgan’s top three got a little more interesting.
