FRISCO – The dramatics of Dak Prescott’s extension finally ended just before kickoff in Week 1. The Dallas Cowboys came to terms with their franchise quarterback on a four-year, $240 million deal. Prescott now becomes the highest paid player in NFL history a privilege beholden to few players. Yet the title fits the man under center for “America’s Team.”
But beyond securing his own future, Prescott has made the extension about more than him “getting his bag.” He has been mindful of setting a standard for future quarterback negotiations. Recently he went deeper, detailing the financial security for his daughter, Baby MJ. “Being able to see that face when I wake up…just puts it all in perspective,” Prescott said. “The money secures that I’m going to be able to leave her generational wealth.”
