Former New England Patriots fullback/running back Patrick Pass was arrested on Wednesday in Rhode Island. According to CBS News, Pass allegedly assaulted an 82-year-old man at a Planet Fitness gym in North Providence on August 28th.
The altercation began as a verbal dispute over exercise equipment, police reported. Pass allegedly shoved the elderly man, causing him to fall and suffer lower back injuries. Pass has been charged with assault on a person over 60 years old, resulting in bodily injury.
Pass, drafted by the Patriots in 2000, played seven seasons with the team, winning three Super Bowls. He appeared in 79 career games, rushing for 526 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching 66 passes for 570 yards and a touchdown. Pass’s NFL career concluded with a brief stint with the New York Giants.
Pass was arraigned in Rhode Island court, with bail set at $10,000 personal recognizance. He has been ordered to have no contact with the victim. Pass’s next court date is scheduled for January 8th. This incident marks a stark contrast to Pass’s celebrated NFL career, particularly his successful tenure with the Patriots.
