Despite being shut down for the season due to a wrist injury, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese remains a strong contender for WNBA accolades. She recently shared fan edits on her X account, highlighting her potential for winning WNBA hardware, including the All-Defensive Team.

Reese’s impressive rookie season, cut short by injury, saw her average 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. She made history by securing the most rebounds in a single season and achieved multiple records, including 15 consecutive double-doubles and becoming the fastest player to reach 20 double-doubles.

Reese’s defensive prowess is undeniable, leading all rookies in defensive win shares, defensive rating, and ranking third in defensive rebounding percentage. Her on-off numbers demonstrate her significant impact on the court. While the WNBA All-Defensive Team is highly competitive, featuring Defensive Player of the Year frontrunners A’ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier, Reese’s stats make a strong case for her inclusion.

Reese’s impressive rookie campaign has garnered significant attention, and her defensive achievements warrant consideration for the WNBA All-Defensive Team. Fans and analysts alike recognize her dominance on the court, and she remains a contender for various awards despite her season-ending injury.
