According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, who spoke with Cleveland’s opponents, Watson’s issues extend beyond inadequate protection. While protection and an inconsistent run game are concerns, opponents have identified additional problems.
Specifically, Watson’s accuracy and footwork have been subpar, and his confidence appears shaken. These deficiencies have allowed opponents to capitalize on his vulnerabilities. Watson’s QBR of 22.5 is among the league’s lowest, surpassed only by Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Bryce Young.
