Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres has now gone some way to picking his next destination when he leaves Portugal, expected to be soon.
Gyokeres has been on absolute first for Sporting since joining from Coventry. The former Brighton youngster has gone from good to incredible playing over in Portugal and has now really made a household name for himself as one of the best strikers in the world.
He scores goals for fun, smashing three past Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League last night. This has once again fuelled transfer rumours around the Swedish international, and Chelsea are very much in the rumour mill on this one.
Gyokeres has continued to be linked with a potential move to Chelsea, amongst other clubs, and now he is very close to deciding his next destination.
TBR Football has been informed that Gyokeres is in no hurry to pick his next club after Sporting, but it is increasingly likely that he will return to England.
The initial plan apparently was for Gyokeres to move to the Serie A next before moving back to England.
But such has been the form of the Sweden international, he is now on a path to join a Premier League side in 2025.
He’s certainly going to have the pick of some of the best clubs in Europe, and it wont just be Chelsea who will be looking at the striker.
He continues to make headlines on the big stage week after week, and helping Sporting thrash Manchester City this week was just elevating that even more as the result came as a complete shock.
Many people doubt whether Gyokeres can do it in the Premier League, but I think he went a long way in shutting those doubts down this week.
