The 17-year-old wonderkid netted the winner for Palmeiras in the 73rd minute against Gremio to become the first Under-18 player in the history of Brazilian Serie A to record 20 goals and assists in one season. He has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in the 2024-25 campaign.

Willian, who is all set to move to Premier League giants Chelsea in July 2025 – shortly after his 18th birthday, is now the league’s top scorer and also the highest assist-maker. Last month, the attacker had eclipsed Brazil icon Neymar to become the most prolific 17-year-old in the league’s history as he reached 17 goal contributions. Until then, the Al-Hilal star held the record of 16 goals and assists which he posted for Santos in 2009.

Chelsea-bound Estevao Willian set another Brazilian Serie A record after scoring in Palmeiras’ win over Gremio on Friday.
