Five Tennessee players listed out on pregame injury report at Georgia

The highly anticipated matchup between No. 6 Tennessee (8-1, 5-1 SEC) and No. 11 Georgia (7-2, 5-2) has been preceded by the release of both teams’ injury reports. The Vols and Bulldogs will clash at Sanford Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Tennessee’s pregame injury report listed five players as out for Saturday’s game:

    1. Keenan Pili (linebacker)

    2. Jourdan Thomas (defensive back)

    3. Edwin Spillman (linebacker)

    4. Desean Bishop (running back)

    5. Vysen Lang (offensive lineman)

Quarterback Nico Iamaleava and wide receiver Dont’e Thornton, previously listed as questionable, have been removed from the injury report. Both players exited last Saturday’s 33-14 win over Mississippi State with upper-body injuries.

The Bulldogs have ruled out running back Trevor Etienne, their leading rusher this season with 477 yards and seven touchdowns. Additionally, running backs Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson are unavailable.

Georgia’s injury report brought positive news, as offensive lineman Micah Morris, running back Cash Jones, and wide receiver Anthony Evans III have all been cleared to play. Jones was previously listed as questionable.

The absence of key players on both sides will significantly impact the matchup. Tennessee’s offense, now bolstered by Iamaleava and Thornton’s return, will face a stiff test against Georgia’s defense. The Bulldogs’ depleted backfield may struggle to contain Tennessee’s potent offense.

Saturday’s game holds significant implications for the SEC East standings. A Tennessee victory would solidify their position, while a Georgia win would keep their conference title hopes alive.
