Breaking News: Nick Perry Leaves Seattle Seahawks to Join University of Arkansas as Defensive Backs Coach

In a significant development, Matt Zenitz, a renowned college football insider, has revealed that Nick Perry, the defensive quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks, is departing the NFL to pursue a coaching opportunity in the college ranks. Perry is expected to join the University of Arkansas as their new defensive backs coach, marking a return to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for the former University of Alabama player.

    Perry’s Coaching Background

Perry’s coaching career has been marked by stints in both the NFL and college football. After playing for the University of Alabama, Perry served as a graduate assistant and defensive analyst under the legendary coach Nick Saban. He then transitioned to the NFL, where he spent four seasons as an assistant defensive backs and assistant wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Seattle Seahawks in 2024.

    A New Chapter at Arkansas

Perry’s appointment as defensive backs coach at the University of Arkansas will be his first stint as a lead positional coach at either the collegiate or professional level. This new role presents an exciting opportunity for Perry to showcase his coaching prowess and contribute to the Razorbacks’ defensive success.

    Seahawks’ Coaching Staff Undergoes Changes

The Seattle Seahawks have also made some significant changes to their coaching staff. The team has parted ways with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, who may be headed back to the college football ranks. Additionally, offensive assistant/quality control coach Zak Hill has been announced as Boise State’s new pass game coordinator.

As the coaching carousel continues to spin, Nick Perry’s departure from the Seahawks and arrival at the University of Arkansas marks a significant development in the world of college football. With his wealth of experience and coaching expertise, Perry is poised to make a lasting impact on the Razorbacks’ defensive unit.
