Legendary alpine skier Lindsey Vonn has confirmed her rigorous preparation for a highly anticipated return to the Winter Olympics in 2026, revealing to TMZ Sports that she is committing to “intense” training sessions six days a week.
The 41-year-old athlete, speaking at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, expressed enthusiasm about re-entering competitive skiing after retiring in 2019. “I’m excited to be back,” Vonn said, emphasizing that this will mark her final Olympic campaign.
Vonn’s training regimen involves approximately five hours per day, a demanding schedule she deems essential given her age and history of injuries. Her comeback follows knee replacement surgery in November 2024, shortly after announcing her decision to unretire.
Regarded as one of the most accomplished female skiers in history, Vonn boasts three Olympic medals and a record 82 World Cup victories. Her career has been punctuated by multiple setbacks, including various injuries that previously sidelined her.
Beyond the slopes, Vonn has maintained a prominent public profile, appearing in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, authoring books, and working as a media personality.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be the first Games for Vonn since her retirement, underscoring her determination to conclude her illustrious career on a competitive high note.
