Mikaela Shiffrin has hailed a new level of cohesion within her support staff as she prepares for the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup technical events in Levi on November 15-16, declaring her squad “more unified than ever.”
The two-time Olympic champion and record 101-time World Cup winner told reporters that streamlined communication is now the cornerstone of her campaign.
“My team is more unified than ever,” Shiffrin said. “The biggest thing I’m working on? Being brutally consistent in how I communicate – with my coaches, my techs, myself.”
The 30-year-old American’s comments come after a promising fourth-place finish in the season-opening Giant Slalom in Sölden – her best result in the discipline since early 2024. She will contest Slalom in Levi and Gurgl (November 22) before returning to North America for a busy December schedule.
Shiffrin has used the 21-day interval to embed new protocols with her Atomic-backed team, emphasizing clarity at every level of preparation. The approach aligns with her stated seasonal objectives of efficiency, efficacy, and transparency, which she first outlined at a pre-season press conference.
The Colorado native has also expanded her off-snow platform by launching the podcast What’s the Point with Mikaela Shiffrin, offering insight into the decision-making processes that underpin her pursuit of a sixth overall Crystal Globe.
As the countdown to the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics accelerates, Shiffrin’s focus on internal alignment signals a deliberate evolution in her record-breaking career. Levi will provide the first indication of whether the reinforced team dynamic translates to the start gate.
