When Mikaela Shiffrin crushed the Stifel Copper Cup slalom by a jaw-dropping 1.57 seconds on Sunday, the loudest cheer might have come from the one person who literally couldn’t find anything to say.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, the Norwegian superstar and Shiffrin’s fiancé, stood at the bottom of the course still working his way back from a brutal shoulder injury that sidelined him for most of 2024 and 2025. As Shiffrin blasted across the finish line to claim her 102nd World Cup victory and punch her ticket to the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics, Kilde pulled out his phone, recorded the moment, and posted it to Instagram Stories… with nothing but a flood of red hearts and crown emojis.
No caption. No words. Just pure, speechless pride.
Fans immediately melted.
“That’s love right there,” one commenter wrote.
“When your fiancé is the GOAT and all you can do is spam hearts 👑❤️,” another added.
The couple, who got engaged in April 2024 after three years together, have become the most beloved power duo in alpine skiing. Kilde has repeatedly called Shiffrin his biggest supporter through his long rehab, and now the roles were reversed in the most public way possible.
Shiffrin later revealed on her podcast that the compliments she treasures most are when people are surprised to discover she’s actually kind – directly pushing back against the idea that you have to be ruthless to dominate a sport. Watching Kilde’s silent tribute, it’s clear he already knew the truth.
From the finish area, Shiffrin blew a kiss toward the crowd – and everyone knew exactly who it was really for.
Sometimes the loudest celebrations need zero words at all. ❤️👑
