American alpine skiing superstar Mikaela Shiffrin returns to the floodlit slopes of Courchevel, France, on Tuesday for a night slalom, chasing her fourth consecutive victory in the 2025/26 FIS World Cup season.
The double Olympic champion has dominated the technical discipline so far, triumphing in Levi, Gurgl, and most recently Copper Mountain. She leads the women’s overall standings and arrives fresh off a DNF in her season’s first super-G at St. Moritz.
Courchevel holds mixed memories for Shiffrin — it was here last season she made her post-injury comeback with a 10th-place finish after a crash in Killington.
This time, she’s the clear favorite in her strongest event, but faces stiff challenges. Albania’s rising teen Lara Colturi has shadowed her with second-place finishes in all three slaloms this year and sits second overall. Germany’s Lena Duerr, fresh off a runner-up spot at Copper Mountain, and Switzerland’s reigning slalom world champion Camille Rast (third in Gurgl) are podium threats. American teammate Paula Moltzan aims to build on recent top-five results.
