Mikaela Shiffrin delivered another masterful performance under the floodlights in Courchevel on December 16, claiming her 105th FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victory with a dominant win in the women’s slalom. The American star extended her perfect record in the discipline this season to 4-for-4, winning by a commanding 1.55 seconds and further cementing her status as the greatest alpine skier in history.

Shiffrin clocked a combined time of 1:42.50, finishing well ahead of Switzerland’s Camille Rast in second place and Germany’s Emma Aicher in third. Several top rivals, including Croatia’s Zrinka Ljutić, Albania’s Lara Colturi, and Austria’s Katharina Liensberger, did not finish the first run on the challenging, bumpy course.
This victory marks Shiffrin’s 68th World Cup win in slalom alone, extending her own record in the event. Now 30, she sits 19 wins clear of Ingemar Stenmark’s men’s record of 86 and continues to pull away in the all-time standings.
“I’m just pushing. I’m not asking questions. Sometimes you just got to take it and roll with it,” Shiffrin told reporters after the race, describing her aggressive approach amid her blistering form. She has now won five consecutive World Cup slaloms, dating back to last season’s finale, with an average winning margin exceeding 1.5 seconds this campaign.

Among the many congratulatory messages pouring in was one from Shiffrin’s mother, Eileen, who has been a constant presence and supporter throughout her daughter’s illustrious career. Eileen Shiffrin posted her heartfelt pride, exclaiming, “I’m Super Proud of You, Girl!” – a touching reminder of the family bond that has underpinned Mikaela’s journey from young prodigy to record-breaking legend.

With the 2026 Winter Olympics approaching in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy – a venue where Shiffrin has previously excelled – her current slalom dominance positions her as the clear favorite to add to her two Olympic golds.
The World Cup now heads into a holiday break before technical events resume. Shiffrin leads the overall standings by a wide margin, on track for yet another historic season.
