Mikaela Shiffrin delivered yet another masterclass in slalom domination, claiming her record-extending 105th World Cup victory and fourth consecutive slalom win of the 2025-26 season during a thrilling night race in Courchevel on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old American posted the fastest times in both runs on the demanding Émile-Allais course, finishing in a combined 1:42.50 – nearly two seconds ahead of the field. Switzerland’s Camille Rast took second, with Germany’s Emma Aicher completing the podium in third.
Shiffrin’s latest triumph marks her 68th slalom victory, further solidifying her as the most decorated alpine skier in history. She has now won all four slaloms this season by margins exceeding 1.2 seconds each, averaging over 1.5 seconds – an extraordinary gap in the technical discipline.
Adding a heartwarming layer to the milestone, Shiffrin’s fiancé, Norwegian speed specialist Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, celebrated her performance with an adorable social media tribute. Posting on Instagram, Kilde gushed over his partner, captioning it with the charming phrase “What a good night story” alongside praise that melted fans’ hearts.
The engaged couple – a powerhouse duo in alpine skiing – have been vocal supporters of each other through highs and challenges, including Kilde’s recovery from injury.
Post-race, Shiffrin reflected on her form: “I’m just pushing, not asking questions – riding the wave.”
With the Olympic season underway, Shiffrin’s flawless slalom streak positions her as the clear favorite for gold at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games.
The women’s World Cup now breaks for the holidays, resuming in Semmering, Austria, on December 28.
