As the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy draw near, two of America’s greatest Alpine skiers delivered historic performances in recent World Cup events, celebrating their triumphs with massive bottles of premium sparkling wine.
In St. Moritz, Switzerland, on December 12, Lindsey Vonn, at age 41, secured her first World Cup downhill victory since 2018, marking her 83rd career win and making her the oldest skier ever to claim a World Cup race. Following a knee replacement in 2024 and a nearly six-year retirement, Vonn’s comeback has been nothing short of extraordinary. She toasted her success with a large-format bottle of Ferrari Trento, the Italian sparkling wine producer with which she shares a long-standing partnership.

Ferrari Trento’s president and CEO, Matteo Lunelli, highlighted the milestone: “We are delighted to have marked this unforgettable moment in sports history with a Ferrari toast. Our friendship with Lindsey Vonn, born on the slopes of Cortina, has been nurtured through many victories and occasions.”
Just days later, on December 16 in Courchevel, France, Mikaela Shiffrin extended her dominance by winning a night slalom race—her fifth straight slalom victory of the season and a record-extending 105th World Cup win overall. The 30-year-old slalom specialist raised a jeroboam of Champagne Devaux Brut Rosé Cuvée D, customized by artist David Cintract, in celebration.
These back-to-back achievements by Vonn and Shiffrin underscore the strength of American Alpine skiing heading into the Olympics, blending athletic perseverance with post-victory traditions of lavish sparkling wine celebrations.
