Mikaela Shiffrin delivered a masterful comeback under the floodlights, posting the fastest second run to claim her 106th career World Cup win in the women’s slalom and extend her unbeaten streak in the discipline to six races.
The American star overcame a fourth-place position after the first run on the challenging, bumpy Panorama course, unleashing an aggressive and precise second descent to finish in a combined time of 1:48.82.
Shiffrin edged Switzerland’s Camille Rast by a mere 0.09 seconds, with Albania’s rising talent Lara Colturi rounding out the podium at 0.57 seconds back. The victory marks Shiffrin’s fifth slalom win of the 2025-26 season—completing a perfect record in the discipline so far—and her first at Semmering since previous triumphs on the iconic Austrian hill.
Describing the conditions as “treacherous” and “choppy,” Shiffrin highlighted her second run as one of her finest under pressure, rebounding from a conservative first leg where she trailed Rast. This win further cements her all-time record for World Cup victories, pulling ahead in the slalom standings and bolstering her pursuit of another overall crystal globe with the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics just weeks away.
