Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin is proving she’s not just the greatest of all time on the slopes — she’s using her platform to lift up the next generation.
Fresh from winning gold at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, the Colorado native returned home to host a special, invite-only ElevateHer ski clinic at Copper Mountain. The heartwarming event brought together about 40 young girls from the nonprofit elevateHER, an organization dedicated to empowering young women through outdoor adventure, confidence-building, and resilience.
Shiffrin, often called “The GOAT,” teamed up with the Share Winter Foundation and Oakley for the “GOAT Gives Back” initiative — part of a major $1 million fundraising effort to expand access to skiing and snowboarding for more youth. She spread glitter on her cheeks, hit the slopes, and spent the day skiing, laughing, and sharing her passion with the girls in a celebratory on-snow experience.
“I’m really looking forward to getting on the mountain and playing a small part in investing in the futures of these young women,” Shiffrin said about the clinic.
The event highlights Shiffrin’s deep roots in Colorado, where she grew up training at places like Copper Mountain. After a historic season and Olympic success, she chose to give back immediately by inspiring girls from Chaffee and Fremont counties who are part of elevateHER’s mission to build strong, confident young women through winter sports.
This isn’t just a one-day clinic — it’s the kickoff to a bigger push to get more kids into the mountains more often. Shiffrin is now calling on fans to support the Share Winter Foundation and help grow opportunities for the next generation of skiers and riders.
From record-breaking World Cup titles to Olympic glory and now mentoring young girls, Mikaela Shiffrin continues to show why she’s one of the most beloved athletes in the world. Her love for the sport and commitment to giving back make this moment even more special.
