Fabio Carvalho shares what he’s planning to do next season after Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool

Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho has been doing well on-loan at Hull City.

After a dismal first half of the season away at RB Leipzig, Carvalho joined Hull in January. Since then it has been plain sailing for the 21-year-old, who has three goals in nine games for the Tigers.

Even Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by Carvalho, singling him out for praise just last week.

Despite Klopp’s words of encouragement though, the Portuguese youngster struggled for game time under him last season. As a result, perhaps Carvalho could actually be one of the players to benefit from the manager leaving the club. Maybe he can reignite his Liverpool career next season?

With this point put to him by The i today, the former Fulham youngster played it with a straight bat. He’s leaving things up to God.

“I just want to concentrate on where I am now, which is Hull, and whatever else happens will happen,” Carvalho replied. “Obviously there’s going to be a few changes but I’ll just leave it to God and wherever he guides me, I’ll go.”

    Carvalho focusing on the present
There aren’t many players who’s prospects at Liverpool are likely to be enhanced by Klopp leaving his post this summer.

Even for other youngsters like Tyler Morton, also out at Hull this season, it feels like a shame. Klopp had previously talked Morton up and gave him his initial chance in senior football.

Without the German at the helm, it feels like the 21-year-old is having to start again from zero.

The same will be true for Carvalho, and every other player yet to truly make his name at Liverpool. But the difference is that Carvalho never seemed to be held in particularly high esteem by Klopp.
Yes, the manager did publicly praise the No.28 at various points last season. But he also jettisoned him from the squad towards the end of the year.

With there being little room for a player like Carvalho in Klopp’s system, it seemed like the writing was pretty much on the wall.

However, that could all change with a new coach. Of course, it could be that the new manager has no room for Carvalho, too. But with a change of tactics feeling likely, he’ll at least be able to state his case.

If it is Xabi Alonso to come in, for example, then you could see the young attacking midfielder getting a reprieve. With so much still unknown, Carvalho is playing his cards close to his chest for now. But hopefully we’ll see him back at Anfield for good this summer
