Jurgen Klopp offered shock new job outside of management ahead of Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp has been offered a surprise new role outside of management once he has managed his final game in charge of Liverpool, according to a new report.

Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season, after nearly nine years in charge at Anfield.

The Reds won the Carabao Cup last month by beating Chelsea 1-0 in the final, and are in contention to win another three trophies before the German does part company with the Merseyside club.

In his leaving announcement, Klopp stated that he intends to take a break from football at the end of the season, and raised doubts about whether he would manage another club.

One thing he did confirm, though, was that he would not take charge of any other Premier League side after his spell with Liverpool.

And in the short-term, the German boss is set to receive multiple offers to take up a new role outside of management.

According to the Daily Mail, BBC and ITV are both desperate to sign up Klopp to work as a pundit as part of their Euro 2024 coverage.

It is claimed that both believe Klopp would be a ‘must-watch, marquee signing in the traditional battle for viewers’ during the tournament.

The competition will be held in Klopp’s home country of Germany, and he is expected to attend the tournament as a fan.

It is reported that he has tickets for Germany’s group games, beginning with their opening match against Scotland, which kicks off Euro 2024, on June 14 in Munich.

Liverpool’s season is currently scheduled to end on May 19 – the final day of the Premier League campaign.

But their season could be extended if they reach the FA Cup final, which takes place on May 25 at Wembley. Meanwhile, the final of the Europa League – a competition Liverpool are currently favourites to win – will be held on May 22 in Dublin.

However, fans who were hoping to see Klopp in the studio will likely be disappointed, as the Daily Mail also claim that he has no desire to take up a punditry role at this stage. Whether his mind can be changed remains to be seen.
