Gary Lineker says Manchester City have a player who could end up being an inductee into the Premier League Hall of Fame one day.
In fairness, City have plenty of players who perhaps deserve to be bestowed with such an honour by the time they retire.
One of them is Kyle Walker, who Gary Neville believes is the best right-back in Premier League history.
The Manchester United legend’s say in the matter particularly means the most, as some like Micah Richards, feel he is the greatest right-back to have ever graced the English top-flight.
However, if a player is in contention to go down as the standout performer in his position in the division’s history, surely they deserve to be in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
For instance, Ashley Cole, who is regarded as the best left-back to have played in the division was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

The same goes for John Terry and Thierry Henry, who have been inducted into the list as they are widely considered the greatest players in their respective positions to have graced the league.
If Erling Haaland stays at the Etihad Stadium for long enough, perhaps he could eclipse the Arsenal legend and be an automatic pick in this list as well.
Similarly, with how much John Stones has achieved and won already while still looking years away from calling it a day, he might also have a shout to be on the list.
Even if Stones is not considered the best-ever Premier League centre-half by the time his career ends, like names like Kompany, Ferdinand and Terry to name a few.
It will be interesting to see how this legendary Manchester City team and its players’ legacies will age over time.
Logically, they should be held in high regard and the same applies to Pep Guardiola.
But when Gary Lineker was asked which current player should be named in the Premier League Hall of Fame, he instantly named Kevin De Bruyne.
“There are quite a lot, aren’t they? I think Kevin De Bruyne will be…maybe one or two players who have perhaps recently left like David Silva, someone like that”, he said about £54.5 million man on TNT Sports.
Much like Gary Lineker, Arsene Wenger claimed in May that Kevin De Bruyne was “ready” to be a part of the prestigious list of legends.

In our view, Gary Lineker is right about Kevin De Bruyne, who has perhaps been the face of the Premier League since his arrival.
Sure, there have been seasons where Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane may have shone brighter than him.
But Kevin De Bruyne has consistently been the gold standard for players in the league, with Roy Keane claiming he is one of the greatest Premier League players of all time.
When it comes to De Bruyne’s generation of players being named in this list, he should be selected before Salah and Kane to name a few, if he came down to it based on his performances, quality, consistency, longevity and trophies won.
