Unbelievable! New Roy Keane vs Erling Haaland saga emerges

Danny Murphy has been left stunned by what he’s heard about the recent beef between Roy Keane and Erling Haaland.

After Keane called Haaland a “spoiled brat” for poor reaction after being substituted in City’s recent 5-1 win over Wolves, the striker said to the media that he doesn’t care what the pundit, who also likened the Norwegian’s general play to a League Two player back in March, says about him.

This was then followed up by a report from The Telegraph saying that Sky Sports should apologise for his latest comments about Haaland

Journalist Henry Winter then suggested that the criticism Keane has for the player stems from the rivalry he had with Alf-Inge Haaland during their playing days.

This has since led to one pundit and former top-flight player sharing his thoughts on this particular situation between Keane and Haaland.

Murphy weighs in on Keane vs Haaland

Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy had this to say about what Keane has been saying about Haaland in recent weeks and the latest reaction from sections of the media about the pundit calling the City star a spoiled brat.

He said: “I think what Roy Keane said on that isolated incident was spot on. I think he was behaving poorly when he came off.

“[Julian] Alvarez was coming on, scored when he came on for his 100th game, who has contributed greatly this season, he scored four, his team are winning, save him for the remaining games, bring him off.

“There’s no need to behave like that. I actually think Keane was right.

“Where I think Keane was wrong was when, for example, he had a bad game on the day, but where he said about his all-round play is like a League Two player, that was ridiculous.

“But I don’t think what he said the other day, I don’t think it’s an agenda from Keane to destroy Haaland because of some family feud or argument with his dad from years ago, I think that’s nonsense.

“To talk about a player’s behaviour coming off, when he’s petulant, I think that’s fair enough.”

Haaland shouldn’t focus on pundit criticism
Regardless of how the 23-year-old reacted when he was subbed off against Wolves, we feel that the only thing he should concern himself with is doing what Pep Guardiola wants him to do in terms of trying to help his side win games.

In other words, he should block out anything that’s being said about him in the media, whether it be positive or negative, and focus on doing all he can to help City win their four final games of the season.
