American skiing sensation Mikaela Shiffrin is set to embark on her 15th season in alpine skiing’s top-tier competition. The Team USA star will kick off her campaign at the World Cup season opener in Soelden, Austria, on October 26, competing in the giant slalom.
AMBITIOUS RACE SCHEDULE
Shiffrin plans to contest all 20 technical events (slalom and giant slalom) on the calendar, supplemented by select speed events. Her packed schedule includes stops in Finland, Austria, Vermont, and Idaho, with a highlight being the Birds of Prey downhill course debut in Beaver Creek.
ROAD TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Shiffrin’s tech event performances in Semmering, Kranjska Gora, Flachau, and Courchevel will provide crucial indicators of her overall World Cup title prospects ahead of the World Championships in Saalbach, Austria (February 4-15). The Sestriere and Are tech stops will follow, leading up to the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho.
