The Cleveland Browns’ investment in Deshaun Watson hasn’t paid off, with the quarterback’s performance ranking among the NFL’s worst this season.
Following a dismal 34-13 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 5, NFL analyst Kurt Warner urged the Browns to consider replacing Watson.
Warner expressed confusion and disappointment with Watson’s play, stating, “I don’t know who he is right now… I don’t know how good he can be as a quarterback.”
Despite the Browns’ strong defense, Warner emphasized that the team’s inconsistent quarterback play will hinder their chances of winning.
With a 1-4 record, pressure is mounting on head coach Kevin Stefanski to make a change at quarterback, potentially allowing Watson to step back and recharge.
Warner suggested that a break from the pressure and scrutiny might help Watson salvage his career, but for now, the Browns need more reliable quarterback play to turn their season around.
