The Tennessee Volunteers’ five-game winning streak came to an abrupt end as they suffered a shocking 19-14 defeat to unranked Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville.
Tennessee, ranked 4th nationally, struggled early, trailing 3-0 at halftime. However, they regained momentum in the second half, scoring on their first two drives to take a 14-3 lead.
But Arkansas refused to give up, gradually chipping away at the lead. By the start of the 4th quarter, the Razorbacks trailed by just one point, setting the stage for a thrilling finale.
Backup quarterback Malachi Singleton sealed the upset with an 11-yard touchdown run, capping a 59-yard drive with just over a minute remaining. The Razorbacks held on for their first win over a top-5 opponent since 2007.
In the post-game address, Coach Josh Heupel urged his team to focus on internal unity and ignore external criticism. “When things don’t go well, the outside world will have its say,” Heupel emphasized. “But it’s the opinions of your teammates that truly matter. Look them in the eye, and let’s move forward together.”
