Manchester City beat Wolves 2-1 at Molineux yesterday. The champions went into yesterday’s game without a host of key players. Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker all missed yesterday’s match. In the cases of Rodri and Oscar Bobb, the pair are out with long-term injuries. In the case of Oscar Bobb, a positive update has emerged on his recovery from a fractured leg. That is positive news for Manchester City given just how important a role Bobb could play when he returns from injury.
Phil Thomas has reported to the Sun that Oscar Bobb is on course to return ahead of schedule. Furthermore, Thomas reports that Bobb is set to begin light training in December. Bobb has been out since the beginning of the season after suffering a fractured leg at training.
The update on Oscar Bobb’s condition is positive news for the world champions. Bobb looked set for a big season after impressing during City’s pre season tour of the United States. But injury struck just when Bobb looked set for a breakout season.
Speaking after City’s win over Wolves Pep Guardiola told the media that Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker will likely miss City’s Champions League clash with Sparta Prague. The pair missed yesterday’s match. De Bruyne is making his return from a groin injury. Kyle Walker returned from international duty with England not fit enough to make City’s squad yesterday.
The update on Oscar Bobb’s condition is good news for the world champions. It means that only Rodri is out for the season for Manchester City. While Bobb’s return isn’t imminent it does appear that he is making good progress and he will be back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
