Chelsea looking at £65m Manchester City star Bernardo Silva named as the toughest in training

Chelsea have just been linked in the transfer rumour mill with a high-profile Manchester City player.

The two Premier League giants have not been strangers in the transfer market during recent years, with several players moving between the two clubs. For example, former Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic is now shining at the Etihad Stadium as an important Man City figure.

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer has grown into a talisman at Stamford Bridge since leaving Manchester last year. Palmer admitted people advised him not to join Chelsea during a recent interview with ITV Sport, but it’s turned out to be a genius transfer switch for the attacker’s career.

Now, Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in another Man City star.

Chelsea are looking at Ruben Dias
According to journalist Simon Phillips via Substack, Chelsea are exploring a move to sign Manchester City’s Ruben Dias.

It is explained that there’s a chance the 27-year-old defender could look to leave Man City soon, with plenty of changes around the corner at the Etihad.

Phillips adds that there’s nothing advanced yet and there’s been no word of any contact, but Chelsea do have Dias on their radar as a potential option.

The fact that Dias has won four Premier League titles in four seasons as a Man City player highlights his special quality. The Portugal international is now attempting to make it five out of five this campaign as well.

Signed for £65m (Sky Sports) from Benfica in 2020, Dias has established himself as one of the world’s top central defenders in recent years in Man City colours.

Ruben Dias would be a remarkable signing
When you look at the Chelsea squad, it just needs a sprinkle of experience and leadership to help so many talented youngsters. In Dias, that’s exactly what you’d be getting.

We’ll refuse to get excited about the Man City centre-half until more concrete rumours emerge, but hearing his name linked is certainly eye-opening because he ticks every box.

Man City playmaker Bernardo Silva, 30, recently admitted on the Pro: Direct Soccer YouTube channel that Dias is the toughest opponent in training for the Premier League champions.

We’re very encouraged by the exciting young Chelsea defenders such as Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Malo Gusto. However, a leader like Dias alongside them would surely elevate everyone so much.
