Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen conceded victory to France’s Loic Meillard in the Levi giant slalom, acknowledging his opponent’s superiority. “Clement was definitely one step better than us today,” Kristoffersen said.
Despite falling short, Kristoffersen secured second place, improving his impressive Levi record to two wins, three runner-up finishes, and a third-place finish. He reflected on his statement second run, “The second run was more about attacking. It was still missing a few points, but it was solid skiing, and that’s what mattered today.”
Meillard’s victory marked a triumphant return to competition after missing the season-opening giant slalom in Sölden due to a back injury. “It’s definitely a great start. It shows I can ski fast and that I’m ready for the next races,” Meillard said.
The Meillard family celebrated a successful weekend, with Loic’s sister Melanie finishing seventh in the women’s slalom on Saturday.
Norway’s Lucas Braathen secured his second fourth-place finish in recent weeks, demonstrating his readiness to challenge the world’s top skiers.
The Levi giant slalom concluded with Meillard on top, followed closely by Kristoffersen and Austria’s Marco Odermatt in third.
