Texas Longhorns star Arch Manning has heard the push from certain college football fans who want to see him replace Quinn Ewers as the team’s starting quarterback. Just days before Texas’ Peach Bowl matchup versus the Arizona State Sun Devils, Manning made his feelings about Ewers clear heading into the College Football Playoff game. Texas is a sizable 12.5-point favorite versus Arizona State in the playoff matchup, per Action Network. Manning praised Ewers for how he has handled the potential quarterback controversy. The Longhorns backup quarterback also labeled Ewers as one of his “good friends” despite the teammates potentially competing for the starting role. “Really, just what I’ve learned the most about Quinn is how he handles the media,” Manning told Orangebloods during an interview on Monday. “He doesn’t really let that get to him. He treats me the same. “I know it’s probably not easy for [him with] me being the backup, everyone’s trying to talk about it, but he doesn’t let it bother him at all.
