Lindsey Vonn is making waves at the Alpine Skiing World Competition in Saalbach, Austria. At 40 years old, she’s targeting history as the oldest alpine Worlds medalist ¹. Vonn feels confident about her speed, saying she’s “fast enough” to compete for a medal .
This marks her ninth Alpine World Championships and her first major event since coming out of retirement ². Although she won’t be teaming up with Mikaela Shiffrin for the team combined event, Vonn is still expected to make a strong showing in the women’s Super-G event, scheduled for Thursday, February 6.
Vonn has been impressed with the Zwölferkogel course, describing it as “really fun” and reminiscent of her early days skiing downhill in Vail ⁴. With her experience and skill, she’s definitely one to watch in Saalbach
