Mikaela Shiffrin cemented her status as the undisputed queen of slalom skiing on Saturday, charging to her ninth career victory in Levi and a historic 102nd FIS Alpine Ski World Cup win overall. The American superstar dominated the Arctic Circle course under clear, frigid skies, finishing 1.66 seconds ahead of the field in a display of precision and power that left no doubt about her enduring supremacy.

Shiffrin, 30, posted the fastest time in both runs on the demanding Levi Black slope, navigating tight gates and icy patches with trademark fluidity. Her combined time of 1:47.32 secured the win on a day when temperatures hovered near -10°C, testing equipment and resolve alike.

“It feels incredible to be back here in Levi and to get number 102,” Shiffrin said post-race, grinning beneath her signature reindeer-antler victory hat. “This hill suits me, the snow was perfect, and the energy from the crowd was electric. I’m just grateful to keep adding to the story.”

    Podium Highlights

🥈 Lara Colturi (ALB) – The 18-year-old phenom continued her breakout season with a career-best second place, 1.66 seconds back. Representing Albania and skiing with Italian flair, Colturi’s aggressive second run vaulted her past early leaders.

🥉 Emma Aicher (GER) – The 21-year-old German celebrated her first World Cup podium in slalom, finishing +2.59. Aicher’s steady consistency across both legs marked a breakthrough for the rising star.

    Race Recap

Shiffrin laid down a blistering first-run marker (53.12), opening a 0.78-second gap over Colturi. In the decisive second run, she extended her lead with surgical turns, while Colturi’s bold charge secured silver. Aicher, starting bib 22, skied cleanly to edge out Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener (4th, +2.67) for bronze.

The result extends Shiffrin’s record for most World Cup wins (male or female) and ties her own Levi record of nine slalom triumphs at a single venue. She now holds 60 career slalom victories—more than any skier in history.

    What’s Next

The women’s World Cup circuit remains in Levi for a second slalom on Sunday, November 16, before heading to North America. Shiffrin, who skipped giant slalom events earlier this season to focus on technical disciplines, will aim for back-to-back Levi sweeps.
