After Vonn’s emotional triumph on Friday, Aicher turned the tables with flawless execution through the technical sections, capitalizing on slightly bumpier conditions to outski the American legend.
“This win feels unbelievable,” a beaming Aicher said. “St. Moritz is such an iconic venue, and to come out on top against Lindsey and Sofia is something special.”
Vonn, gracious in defeat, extends her remarkable comeback story and retains the early lead in the downhill standings.
The weekend concludes tomorrow with super-G action, where the battle at the top promises to intensify even further.
