Lindsey Vonn continued her sensational 2025-26 season on Saturday, securing third place in the women’s downhill at Val d’Isère despite challenging conditions. The 41-year-old American finished just 0.35 seconds behind winner Cornelia Hütter of Austria, with Germany’s Kira Weidle-Winkelmann in second.
This marks Vonn’s third podium in as many downhill races this season: a historic win in St. Moritz (December 12), second place the next day, and now bronze in France. She now leads the downhill standings with 240 points and has four podiums in five races overall.
“It’s frustrating because I know I can be better,” Vonn said, highlighting her high standards even after another strong result.
With the 2026 Olympics approaching, Vonn’s form makes her a serious contender for gold in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
