Lindsey Vonn capped a remarkable weekend in Val d’Isère with consecutive podium finishes, taking third in both the downhill and super-G. The 41-year-old American battled flat light and tough conditions to secure her fourth podium in five races this season.
In Sunday’s super-G, won by Italy’s Sofia Goggia, Vonn finished third (+0.36), adding to Saturday’s downhill bronze. “I’m heading to the holidays happy,” Vonn said after her 142nd career podium.
Racing against skiers half her age, Vonn’s consistency and power continue to school the next generation, solidifying her as a force ahead of the Olympics.
