What a THRILLING finale to the weekend in Kranjska Gora. The women’s slalom delivered non-stop action, razor-thin margins, and pure alpine drama as the world’s best battled down the iconic Podkoren slope.
In a massive shock, Switzerland’s Camille Rast ended Mikaela Shiffrin’s unbeaten run in slalom this season — claiming victory by just 0.14 seconds in a nail-biting showdown! Rast posted the fastest time in BOTH runs to secure the win (1:40.20 total) and complete an incredible double after her giant slalom triumph the day before. What a legend in the making.
Shiffrin fought back hard on the second run but came up agonizingly short for 2nd place. Teammate Wendy Holdener rounded out an all-Swiss-flavored podium in 3rd (+1.83), with the rest of the top 10 packed tight:
Paula Moltzan (USA) +1.97
Katharina Truppe (AUT) +2.20
Lara Della Mea (ITA) +2.35
Dzenifera Germane (LAT) +2.56
Emma Aicher (GER) +2.69
(Full top 10 had super-close fights — margins under 3 seconds from the winner!)
This race had everything: speed, precision, comebacks, and those heart-pounding splits that keep fans on the edge! Who’s your pick for the slalom Crystal Globe now? Shiffrin still leads big, but Rast is charging! 🚀
