Fresh off one of the most successful seasons in alpine skiing history, Mikaela Shiffrin is wasting no time getting back to work.
The American superstar has returned to the slopes at Mammoth Mountain in California, choosing preparation over celebration as she begins gearing up for the next competitive campaign. While many athletes would take an extended break after such a dominant year, Shiffrin is already back in training mode—fine-tuning her technique and maintaining peak form.
Her decision follows a historic 2025/2026 season that further cemented her place at the top of the sport. Shiffrin secured her sixth Overall World Cup Crystal Globe, matching the long-standing women’s record set by Annemarie Moser-Pröll. She also continued her dominance in technical events, claiming her ninth Slalom Crystal Globe and extending her record to an astonishing 110 World Cup victories.
Beyond the World Cup circuit, Shiffrin delivered once again on the Olympic stage at the Milano Cortina Winter Games, capturing her third career gold medal with a standout performance in slalom.
Now, instead of slowing down, she is building momentum.
Mammoth Mountain, known for its high-altitude conditions and reliable spring snow, has long been a favored training destination for elite skiers. For Shiffrin, it offers the ideal environment to stay sharp and transition smoothly into the next phase of preparation.
Her early return to training highlights a defining trait of her career—relentless consistency. Even after rewriting the record books, Shiffrin continues to push forward, focused not on what she has achieved, but on what comes next.
With months still to go before the next season begins, one thing is already clear: Mikaela Shiffrin is not done raising the bar.
