In a heartfelt post shared Thursday, the three-time Olympic gold medalist and Denver Summit FC investor wrote: “Home (and Colorado sports) is where my heart is… thank you, Denver Broncos and Denver Summit FC for the warmest welcome last weekend. Cheering for you and hope to be back soon! But for now, it’s time to ski.”
The message came after a whirlwind few days back in her home state. Last weekend, Shiffrin was a special guest at Denver Broncos training camp, where she received a warm welcome and even left with a jersey. She also made a high-profile appearance at a Denver Summit FC match, joining the NWSL side she helped invest in for coin-toss duties, an on-field interview, and a medal celebration.
For a skier who spends most of the year chasing winter around the globe, the stop in Colorado clearly meant something special. The Vail-area native has long been one of the loudest supporters of local sports, and her ownership stake in Summit FC only deepened that connection.
But the calendar waits for no one. With the southern hemisphere winter in full swing, Shiffrin is already shifting gears toward on-snow training in Chile. The annual South American camps remain a critical part of her preparation as she builds toward another World Cup season.
In classic Shiffrin fashion, she managed to balance pure Colorado pride with the quiet, relentless focus that has defined her career. One weekend of home, one clear message of support for her teams… and then it’s straight back to the skis.
Colorado will be waiting when she returns.
