American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn marked her 42nd birthday on October 18, 2026, with a series of confident and eye-catching photos that quickly went viral. The Olympic champion and World Cup record-holder shared images in swimwear and athletic wear, capturing a lighter moment amid one of the most challenging recovery periods of her career.
Vonn, who was born Lindsey Caroline Kildow on October 18, 1984, in St. Paul, Minnesota, has spent much of 2026 rebuilding after a devastating crash during the women’s downhill at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in February. The high-speed fall resulted in a complex tibia fracture and other injuries that required multiple surgeries. She spent an extended period in a wheelchair before progressing to crutches and intensive rehabilitation, which has included physical therapy, strength work, and other specialized treatments.
Despite the setbacks, Vonn has remained publicly active and upbeat. In the days leading up to her birthday, she shared photos from a European getaway in France with her dog, Chance, and her new partner, French skier Matthieu Bailet. Captions referenced catching “a few more days of summer” and feeling “tired and happy.” The images, including a widely shared bikini shot, drew an immediate wave of support from fans who praised both her physique and her resilience.
The birthday celebration arrives as questions linger about her competitive future. Vonn has previously indicated she has not entirely ruled out another return to racing, though she has also spoken candidly about the physical realities of recovery and the uncertainty ahead. Earlier in her comeback, she became the oldest woman to podium on the World Cup circuit after returning from a partial knee replacement, proving that age alone has never defined her limits.
For now, the 42-year-old appears focused on celebrating the milestone on her own terms—balancing rehab with travel, time with loved ones, and the confidence that has long been a hallmark of her public persona. Fans flooded her posts with birthday wishes, many noting that Vonn continues to inspire both on and off the mountain.
Happy birthday, Lindsey Vonn.
