The horrific incident happened as Mr Smith was swimming just 30ft from the shore of Turtle Beach along Great Courland Bay on the island’s north coast. The man is in a serious condition at Scarborough General Hospital on the island. The Foreign Office is supporting the man’s family. Government officials have since closed seven beaches and the…
Exclusive: Chelsea eyeing £80m double deal as they look to sign two players from the same club
The Blues held talks last summer but they could not agree terms with Palmeiras – who had already agreed to sell their prized asset Endrick, who finalises his long-awaited switch to Real Madrid this summer. Chelsea also failed to get Endrick, but TBR understands that they are determined to land Estevao and Guilherme this time around. Chelsea wanted the deals done in advance like Endrick or even how they have done with Ecuadorian starlet Kendry Paez. Current FIFA rules stipulate players can’t move until they are 18. That means Guilherme will be able to move this summer, but Estevao would…
Chelsea’s first summer sale ‘confirmed’ as Blues set to lose player Raheem Sterling loves playing with
Chelsea have reportedly decided to sell Armando Broja this summer once he returns to Stamford Bridge from a miserable loan spell at Fulham. Raheem Sterling called Broja ‘the truth’ after seeing him in training for the first time, but the striker’s struggle for form looks set to call time on his spell in west London. Broja joined Fulham on loan in January after failing to displace Nicolas Jackson in the Chelsea starting XI. The Blues academy product was expected to be a regular starter for the Cottagers, who were on the lookout for a reliable goal-scorer. Rodrigo Muniz’s subsequent hot…
Darwin Núñez has posted on social media for the first time since mysteriously deleting all photos of himself in a Liverpool kit last weekend. The Uruguayan striker featured off the bench for the Reds in the recent 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur. After replacing Luis Díaz in the 75th minute and failing to score in the brief cameo, it now marked eight games without a goal for the 24-year-old – as his frustrations seemingly boiled over in the aftermath of the win at Anfield. Shortly after the full-time whistle was blown by referee Paul Tierney, Liverpool fans noticed Núñez had…
Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has reflected on his first season at Anfield after admitting he may have “set the bar too high” in terms of the expectations for himself. The 23-year-old also revealed the main differences he has noticed between both England and Germany. Szoboszlai was signed by Liverpool from RB Leipzig for around $75million (€70m/£60m) last summer and has since become a vital part of the squad that battled for the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Europa League and Premier League this season. The midfielder has made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and adding three assists. Despite…
Referees admitted they made a mistake in calling a kicked ball violation late in Monday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers, who were unable to challenge the ruling. With the Pacers and New York Knicks tied at 115 and 52 seconds left, Aaron Nesmith seemed to deflect a pass from Jalen Brunson intended for Donte DiVincenzo Although the Pacers could have gained possession, referee Sean Wright ruled that Nesmith kicked the ball, allowing the Knicks to keep it. The Knicks then took the lead 12 seconds later when DiVincenzo made a crucial 3-pointer, securing a 121-117 victory in Game 1…

‘You can see’… Benoit Badiashile says he plays so much better when ‘outstanding’ Chelsea player starts too
Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has stated he thinks he is a better player when one if his teammates is playing too. The Frenchman has endured a stop-start first 18 months at Chelsea, missing a large portion of that time due to injury. His form when he has been fit has been inconsistent to say the least though too, with him being prone to criticism at times for his performances. However, he has silenced a number of his critics with recent performances, starring especially since the shape changed off the back of Marc Cucurella’s new role. Badiashile loves playing with Thiago…
Opinion why Mauricio Pochettino should now drop player for next Chelsea game against Nottingham Forest
Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt be absolutely delighted with how his Chelsea players have dealt with the circumstances surrounding their most recent games. With the Premier League season reaching it’s climax and the games getting more important, the Blues have stepped up despite the injury crisis surrounding them. Wins against both Tottenham and West Ham United within three days have helped them move into the European places, although it has been reported that Europa League is the demand of the owners. Injuries have played a real part in the Argentine’s team selection in recent weeks, with hardly any first team…
