The Steelers announced several additions to their coaching staff on Friday, naming Tom Arth as the quarterbacks coach, Zach Azzanni as the wide receivers coach and Mateo Kambui as an offensive assistant. Arth spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers where he was the team’s passing game specialist. During his time with the Chargers, he was part of a staff that helped the offense rank fifth in passing offense and eleventh in total offense during his tenure. He also helped quarterback Justin Herbert continue to set NFL records. Prior to joining the Chargers, he spent nine seasons…
With Warriors legend Klay Thompson all but certain to test free agency this summer, teams across the league are already preparing to make a push for the 5x All-Star. According to Shams Charania, both Florida teams and both Los Angeles teams will be involved in the pursuit. “I expect him to test the marketplace,” said Charania on the Pat McAfee show. “I would expect both Florida teams, both LA teams, potentially a couple East Coast teams [to show interest]. As of right now, unless there’s a miracle extension, he’s gonna test the marketplace and I think the Warriors have understood…
One of the most intriguing reports to come out of the NBA trade deadline was the Golden State Warriors calling the Los Angeles Lakers to inquire about LeBron James. The Warriors were hoping for a chance to pair the 39-year-old superstar with Stephen Curry to make one final run at an NBA title before James hits free agency this summer. The Lakers, unsurprisingly, rebuffed their offers. Of course, they checked with James before doing so, as he is perhaps the only player in the NBA who could have that significant of a say in their own trade rumors. Lakers governor…
The Pittsburgh Steelers released punter Pressley Harvin III on Monday, and is now looking for a new spot after the team that drafted him moved on. Pittsburgh’s seventh-round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Harvin struggled to maintain consistency and now has been released by the team. In his post-season debriefing, Mike Tomlin mentioned that Harvin had not met their standards. “You know, I’ll acknowledge that Pressley (Harvin) wasn’t consistent enough, particularly down the stretch,” Tomlin said But Harvin came into the league as a highly-touted player. He won the Ray Guy Award at Georgia Tech and seemed destined…
The Denver Broncos could very well move on from quarterback Russell Wilson following a season in which he was benched in favor of Jarrett Stidham for the final two games of the season. Should Denver cut its losses with Wilson, the 35-year-old will have a decent amount of suitors looking for a veteran signal-caller. The Pittsburgh Steelers fall into that camp, with head coach Mike Tomlin saying last month that Kenny Pickett will be “challenged from a competition perspective moving forward.” Whether or not the Steelers will have interest in Wilson remains to be seen, but as of now, they…
Tell me if you have heard this one before — the Pittsburgh Steelers should make a trade and land Justin Fields. Well, it’s only been said about twenty times over the last week, and it seems like most people are on board with the idea. But it still does not match up with the comments the team made early this offseason. Hwoever, Mike Tannenbaum made that projection on Get Up, and thinks that Fields makes a ton of sense with the Steelers to upgrade their quarterback room. “If you look at their new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and all the…
This offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves at a critical juncture, tasked with making pivotal decisions regarding key players. Among these decisions looms the fate of seasoned veteran Patrick Peterson and his contract. Peterson, a seasoned defensive back, has expressed his desire to conclude his illustrious career in the black and gold of Pittsburgh. Yet, he acknowledges that the final decision rests with the Steelers’ organization. During a recent episode of his podcast All Things Covered, hosted by Bryant McFadden and Peterson himself, the topic of Peterson’s future came to the forefront. When queried about his intentions to continue playing,…
Pittsburgh Steelers insider Brooke Pryor of ESPN explained during an appearance on the latest edition of the “Two on OSU” podcast why quarterback Mason Rudolph may head elsewhere as a free agent this spring rather than re-sign with Pittsburgh and work with recently-hired offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. “At this point, I think it’s kind of up in the air,” Pryor said about Rudolph’s future, as shared by Josh Carney of Steelers Depot. “I’m so intrigued to see what the Steelers do because I think that they would like to bring Mason Rudolph back, but I don’t know how Mason fits…
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson isn’t even sure if he is going to be on the team in 2024, admitting on the latest episode of his All Things Covered Podcast with former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden that he’s not sure if the Steelers will want him back for his 14th NFL season. But he is sure of one thing: Kenny Pickett will be the Steelers starting quarterback. Despite Pickett losing his starting job to Mason Rudolph while injured down the stretch in 2023 and Rudolph leading the team to the postseason, the Steelers have given every indication this offseason that…
There was a time when Patrick Peterson was one of the best cornerbacks in football, but at this stage of his career, the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ veteran is seeing his skills erode. Peterson has a year left on his deal with the Steelers, but there has been some speculation that Pittsburgh could potentially part ways with him. The 33-year-old spoke on the situation during his All Things Covered podcast this week and seems more than willing to stay with the Steelers…as long as they’ll have him in return. “The question is if the Steelers want me to finish with them,” Peterson…
