The club has reportedly begun developing plans to bring in new players during the January transfer window, according to Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.
In his pre-game press conference on Friday, Pochettino stated that the club is eager to reinforce the team, which has been decimated by a number of injuries.
“I believe the football [we play] is very dynamic, and now we have to work on [injured players’] recovery, like Nkunku, to help us have more goals and be more reliable,” he said.
Of course, we’ve already begun working since January.
In response to a question regarding the compressed schedule during a press conference before Monday’s game against Fulham, the Chelsea manager said: “Yes, one player may not be able to handle 70 games, but another cannot.
However, it is challenging because every player wants to participate in every game.
“You then want to triumph. I believe the topic is contentious. It is quite difficult. This discussion is private. The Premier League, the FA, and the clubs are engaged in a private discussion on this issue.
On Wednesday, Chelsea defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup to earn their third home victory across all categories. The victory helped Chelsea recover from a subpar start to the season, which saw them earn just five points in their first six Premier League games under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
