All-Star Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis, long rumored to be amenable to making a return to Team USA ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris this summer, has offered some clarification on how he’s feeling about the competition at this stage of the 2023-24 NBA season, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“I told the committee if they ask me to go, I’ll go,” Davis said.
Through 52 contests for the 30-26 Lakers, the nine-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA and four-time All-Defensive honoree out of Kentucky is averaging 24.9 points on 55.3% field goal shooting and 81% free throw shooting, 12.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.1 steals per bout. It seems like he’s on track to make his fifth All-Defensive team, and the 6’10” big man could have a shot at another All-NBA appearance.
