BBC pundit Chris Sutton has made a prediction about Darwin Nunez when Liverpool take on Manchester City on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are set to meet for the last time in the Premier League, and it is a massive game for both sides. It’s a hard fixture to predict, but Sutton believes Liverpool will edge it thanks to Nunez.

Chris Sutton predicts Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez will score the winner vs Manchester City
We haven’t seen a three-horse title race in the Premier League for years, but we finally have one with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal all battling it out for the top spot.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will go into the weekend as the league leaders, but at full-time on Sunday, the table could look a lot different to how it is now.

Arsenal will go top if they beat Brentford tomorrow, and they will stay there if Liverpool and Manchester City end up drawing on Sunday.

Chris Sutton, however, believes the Reds will beat the defending champions, and he also thinks Darwin Nunez will score the winning goal.

In his predictions column on BBC Sport, Sutton wrote: “City are the Premier League champions, European champions and world champions… so who is going to write them off? I am. They are going to lose

“I have a hunch that, with Liverpool being at home, they will have the slight edge and Mohamed Salah’s return from injury could make the difference for them in a very tight game.

“I will probably look stupid at full-time but I am going with ‘darling’ Darwin Nunez to score and the Reds to win.”

However, the game on Sunday could come down to their two strikers.

We all know how lethal Erling Haaland is in front of goal. The Norwegian is the best striker in the world right now, and he has the ability to win any game.

Darwin Nunez, 24, may not be as great a finisher as Haaland, but he is having a fine season. He scored a stunning brace last night to take his tally up to 16 goals for the season, which is a solid return.

The game on Sunday will be a tight one, and it won’t surprise us at all if Nunez ends up scoring and being the difference-maker.
