Jamie Carragher explains Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp spat as Liverpool boss says ‘it’s done’

Jamie Carragher has offered his thoughts on Jurgen Klopp’s argument with Mohamed Salah during Liverpool’s draw against West Ham United.

The Merseysiders’ faint title hopes look to be over, after their 2-2 draw against the Hammers. But while the fizzling of their season has been a hot topic, fans were left aghast when Salah and Klopp had a brief confrontation on the touchline.

Klopp dropped the Egyptian for the clash in east London but brought him on for Luis Diaz in the 79th minute. After the match, Carragher took to social media to offer his verdict.

The Liverpool legend said: “The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on.”

After the match, Klopp refused to elaborate on what happened between him and Salah. When asked about the incident, he said: “We spoke already in the dressing room. For me, that’s done.”

The draw all but ended Liverpool’s hopes of ending Klopp’s tenure with a second Premier League title. They are two points behind first placed Arsenal and one away from second placed Manchester City.

However, the Gunners have a game in hand over the Merseysiders, while City have played two matches less than Liverpool. Arsenal travel to fiercest rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a fierce North London derby, while City travel to relegation battling Nottingham Forest.

When asked if he felt Liverpool were now out of the title race, Klopp said: “I’m not in the mood to talk about that to be honest or look at that at all.

“We had to win here, we knew that, and we didn’t, and now we have a little bit more time between now and the next game. We try to get the boys ready again and we will go again.”
