The Cleveland Browns are off to a disappointing start in the 2024 NFL season, with a 1-4 record after five games. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is under intense scrutiny due to his subpar performances.
In their latest loss to the Washington Commanders (34-13), Watson completed 15 of 28 passes for 125 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions. However, he faced significant pressure, being sacked multiple times.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski acknowledged the team’s struggles, emphasizing the need for improvement across the board. “We all need to do better,” Stefanski said. “As coaches, we must develop better game plans, and as players, we must execute better.”
Stefanski specifically mentioned Watson, stating that he has shown flashes of brilliance but needs to deliver consistently. “Deshaun can play better, and he will,” Stefanski assured. The quarterback has thrown just five touchdowns and three interceptions this season.
Despite Watson’s struggles, Stefanski remains confident in his ability to turn things around. “Deshaun is committed to improving, and we’re committed to putting our players in positions to succeed,” Stefanski said. The Browns will look to bounce back from their rough start.
