Omar Marmoush’s name keeps coming up time and time against as a potential target for Liverpool.
It doesn’t really surprise us. The Egyptian is absolutely thriving right now and he’s got all the traits to be a perfect option in Arne Slot’s attack.
Marmoush can simply do everything. He’s quick, blessed with silky feet capable of darting through thickets of defenders and he’s got a formidable ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
His numbers this season are proof in the pudding. Marmoush has 22 goal contributions in just 15 matches.
Yes, you read that right.
That’s more than Mohamed Salah who ‘only’ has 18 goal contributions in 16 matches.
Why Marmoush is now begging Liverpool to sign him
Okay, Marmoush is a great goal-scorer, but you’ll argue Liverpool are pretty well stocked in the offensive department at the moment.
Well, that would be correct. Although with Darwin Nunez’s unpredictable form and Diogo Jota’s worrying injury record, you could also argue Liverpool’s no.9 options are running thin.
It’s no surprise Arne Slot has decided to play Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz in the no.9 role recently.
With Marmoush playing exclusively as a forward for Frankfurt this season bringing him in would make complete sense.
Especially after what he did for Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night.
With less than 60 minutes on the clock, Frankfurt were awarded a free-kick in a central position outside the penalty area.
Up stepped Marmoush and he thumped one into the top corner of the net in what can only be described as ‘typical’ Steven Gerrard fashion.
At this point the Egyptian is just begging for Richard Hughes to cough up the transfer fee that would get him to Anfield as quickly as possible.
