The New York Jets have released their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, with one player ruled out and five listed as questionable. The lone player ruled out is offensive tackle Tyron Smith, who has been dealing with a neck injury that has not responded to treatment.
Smith’s injury has been a concern for the Jets all week, and interim coach Jeff Ulbrich acknowledged that the tackle is “definitely becoming an IR candidate.” Despite visiting several specialists, the exact nature of Smith’s injury has not been disclosed.
While Smith’s absence is certain, the status of five other Jets players remains uncertain. Running back Breece Hall (knee), offensive lineman Jake Hanson (hamstring), offensive lineman Xavier Newman (concussion), linebacker C.J. Mosley (neck), and safety Chuck Clark (shin) are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Hall, who has been out for two weeks with a knee injury, was encouraged by his progress in practice this week. Ulbrich also expressed optimism about Hall’s chances of playing, stating that the running back is “trending toward playing.”
The status of Mosley, who has missed several games with a herniated disc in his back, is less certain. Despite being a full participant in practice earlier in the week, Mosley was limited on Friday and acknowledged that he may need another week to recover.
In addition to the players listed as questionable, several other Jets players are on the injury report but have no designation for Sunday’s game. These players include wide receiver Malachi Corley (illness), cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers (non-injury/personal), offensive lineman Morgan Moses (knee), cornerback D.J. Reed (back), and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle).
The Seattle Seahawks have a lengthy injury report, but only two players are listed as questionable: safety AJ Finley (ankle) and tight end Brady Russell (foot). Both players practiced at least twice this week.
