Notre Dame defeated Georgia 23-10, dominating the SEC title game winners in the quarterfinal round. Notre Dame looked to be a clear contender to win the national title, but they were halted in the first half of the Orange Bowl. Penn State led the Nittany Lions 10-3 heading into the locker room at halftime. The Fighting Irish struggled on both ends of the field, leaving fans to question the Georgia’s previous double-digit loss.
