Chloe Kim is on fire! She just won her 12th World Cup gold medal in the halfpipe at the Toyota US Grand Prix in Aspen, Colorado. This is her second win in as many weeks, following her victory at the Laax Open in Switzerland.
Kim’s winning run included a frontside double cork 1080, which earned her a score of 96.50. She failed to complete her next two runs, but it didn’t matter – she had already secured the top spot on the podium. Korean rider Gaon Choi took silver with a score of 88.75, while Sara Shimizu won bronze with an 85.25.
This win puts Kim in second place overall in the FIS World Cup Halfpipe standings, just behind her teammate Maddie Mastro. Kim is also the reigning Olympic champion and has won multiple X Games titles, including a record-tying seventh gold medal in the superpipe event.
